Malaysia is home to one of the world’s best fine-dining restaurants in Asia, according to TripAdvisor.
The travel search site lists Mandarin Grill as one of the winners in its annual Travellers’ Choice awards.
The flagship restaurant of Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, the establishment is honoured for its meat cuts such as Sher Wagyu Tomahawk Steak and Grilled Boston Lobster Thermidor.
One TripAdvisor reviewer comments: “Service was unobtrusive but attentive, and the food served was nicely presented and tasty. Overall, a restaurant I would return to, especially if you are looking for a good grill without anything fancy except good food and service.”
Mandarin Grill joins the ranks of other well-known fine-dining restaurants in the region, such as DK David’s Kitchen at 909 in Thailand, TRB in China, and Tapas Molecular Bar in Japan.
This year’s awards recognise 528 restaurants overall, including the top 25 fine-dining restaurants in the world and dedicated lists for Asia, Canada, Europe, India, Mexico, South America, South Pacific, the UK and the United States.
Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.
